King of the Friday Tea Strikes again!

Ja I realise I would probably make an excellent old lady, like who else brags about doing the best tea parties! Some poor kids out there are missing out on a potentially awesome granny!

Spinach & Feta Pancakes
The pancakes I slaved over the stove until near midnight last night were a real hit! Both with my colleagues and with Liezel's! The pancakes were properly cooked, light & fluffy; the fillings tasted fantastic, and the presentation was professional!

Unfortunately Liezel's chocolate cake flopped out on her, it just wasn't to be this time. Unlucky, but next time will be twice as good as the last one that worked!

Savoury Chicken Pancakes
As a result of the chocolate abortion I got some lovely fresh donuts at Pick & Pay with a pack of caramel choc chip biscuits as fillers. The donuts were actually quite good, for a supermarket!

Everybody left the table with full bellies and singing my praises. Yay for me! Yippee - some attention! Woo Hoo! (note the sarcasm!)
Just glad it worked after the effort!

Next time my turn for tea comes around I'm seriously considering rocking up with a waffle iron and ready made waffle mix, and cooking up waffles in the office! The irresistable smell of sizzling waffles will no doubt waft through the building stirring up a feeding frenzy with the other folks around who are not invited to tea! I'm sure my team will quite enjoy the satisfaction of being the priveleged few who get to enjoy freshly made waffles while our colleagues hovering meaninglessly outside the perimiter of room 3.05 can but only slobber on their faces licking their hungry chops and wishing that their lunch hour would come a lot sooner!

Of course there will be a range of mouth-watering toppings for my fresh waffles, including ice-cream, chocolate sauce (home made with real chocolate), hot caramel fudge sauce, cinnamon, peanut butter, bananas & strawberries for the sweet tooths; and some savoury toppings like grated cheese, nuts, bacon bits, etc... I'll do some research and prepare a memorable selection!

On another note, I found out last night my dad is in town tomorrow. We're meeting up at my brother's place for a braai or something. Quite looking forward to seeing the old man again, and my daughter can see her baby cousin & grandpa at the same time. We haven't seen them in a while and Tammy's always asking about her cousin!

But before meeting dad at Warryn's place, we are having brunch with my mom and her boyfriend at Meerendal wine estate in the morning! I know the boyfriend, met him many years back, literally half my life back (I'm 34 now, do the math) when they first hooked up while my folks divorce was going through. Now he's back on the scene and we are meeting again tomorrow. He is also a keen birdwatcher (of the feathered kind, mostly) as I am so we should have plenty to talk about!

Should be an interesting day! Definitely one for the camera!

Have a nice day folks! I'll be back later...
