Back on the Blogs!

Hello and welcome to my new blog!

I've been off the blogs, publicly anyway, for quite a while now, but the unintended popularity of my regular Facebook status updates regarding my daily descriptions of my eating habits have hatched an idea to take it a step further, kind of like some chick flick I saw recently, the name of which eludes me; to blog about my bizarre recipes in more detail than the Facebook status restriction allows! Naturally I'll include a whole lot of other comical bullshit in between, and hopefully over time hone my writing and communication skills. You might notice my attempts at writing in clever English often clashes with my need to fucking swear all the time, but I'll find the balance sometime!

BTW: my dinner tonight was delicious - creamy chicken & mushroom pasta cooked in milk with carrots, sweet pepper, onion, a small tin of tomato paste, chicken stock, thyme and a blend of mild Cape Malay curry. I'm not sure if the wife even enjoyed it or not, I certainly did, twice!

I'd actually quite like to partake in a cooking class of some sort in the near future! Not with the aim of becoming a professional chef - I don't think I'd enjoy the bullshit and restrictions of working a busy restaurant kitchen getting yelled at all day and insulted by rude spoilt customers, I hate restaurant customers... no I'd like to learn to get more creative with my home cooking to be able to pull off fantastic meals without breaking the bank. Even on the braai! I know I do a good braai, but it's always from a range of the same things and I want to try something new from the usual lamb chops, my famous burney chicken, ribs, steak, etc.

To do all that I need to learn more about the various ingredients and methods of putting things together. Any recommendations will be most welcome!

In the meantime, I am also about to embark on a 3 month correspondence course through Unisa on small to medium business management! I'm on this mission of starting my own successful business sometime in the relatively near future, even if it's just something on the side from my day job at UCT until it becomes successful, such as photography. But it will take a while to get started because I'm so poor right now I can't find 2 cents to rub together, let alone capital investment.

Well, that's it for now. My bed is pulling at my conscience. The design of this site will be a work in progress, it will get better...
